Met, “The Game,” and Some Other People at a Celebrity Poker Game

Managed to get backstage for, “Hip Hop Hold Em.” Its a show where music industry cats come to play Poker, the winner receives a $10,000 donation to the charity of their choice. The host is Ed Lover and people playing included, The Game, Rahzel, Lord Finesse, International P, and Marcus Williams from the Nets. People chilling there included Blackwall Street, Jimmy Henchmen and Bryce Wilson.

Everyone was mad cool. Rahzel was mad laid back we just was chilling while he was waiting for his car. Making some jokes asked a few question nothing major. Ed Lover was chilling making jokes the whole time, mad nice to everyone. International P and Lord Finesse was chatting a little, they were down to earth. DJ Scratch was talking about how he checks his myspace page and replies to all his fans.

When Game came through, every thing got shut down, he came rolling deep with two huge security guards and his crew including Jimmy Henchmen(Game’s Manager). Blackwall Street was with him and one of the guys had on a huge Blackwall Street chain. Blackwall Street was mad cool, taking pictures without problems. Jimmy Henchmen kept to himself, mainly on the phone. If you don’t know who he is, he is the guy that supposedly set up Tupac when he got shot in NY, also was said to have run Rikers(NY Prison) in the 80s, so yea he’s not someone to play around with. Game wasn’t talking much, he stayed with the mean grill when taking pictures. With Game standing right in front of me I would say he’s probably 6′3. His chain is impressive but for some reason I thought it would be bigger. Having the LA tattoo put over the butterfly tattoo wasn’t a good idea, and the tattoo on his neck is huge. He had on a Miskeen shirt with him and son, I believe its the one he had on at TRL.

It was a cool little event, the only thing that sucked was they had Free on the taping before I came, DAMN.

Boostmobile RockCorps Concert: Nelly/Nas/Kelis/T.I./Jeezy and more

Boostmobile had their annual RockCorps concerts last night(9/23) in New York at Radio City Music Hall. The concert was free to anyone willing to volunteer for four hours. Tickets are given out randomly and I got lucky and ended up with a seventh row center seat and then moved up to the third row. Unfortunately when I moved up this 250 pound female usher was like I can’t take video, right when Nas started performing(DAMN!). I still got him performing a few songs and him doing, “Blindfold Me,” with Kelis, but I got no video of Jeezy and not so great video of T.I.

The lineup for the night included: Nelly, Nas, Kelis, T.I., Young Jeezy, Fabolous, Paul Wall, Papoose, Young B, Panic at the Disco, Taking Back Sundays, Don Omar and was hosted by Nick Cannon. Nick Cannon did a good job hosting even with the corney jokes. The crowd was young and he kept their attention. He was rocking a huge gold chain, I guess that’s the new trend, if you go to the Kanye West concert page he has a big gold chain too.

New Mya Interview, Talks About 50 Cent & The Game Rumors

Mya is releasing a new album entitled, “Liberation,” this Fall. In a recent Vibe interview she had some not so nice words about 50 Cent.

In the past you have been linked to artists like 50 Cent. Any comments?

Mya: Yes, it’s not true. 50 and I never dated, never cuddled, never did anything,
period, despite what he chooses to believe in his own mind. I don’t know how he would get Lloyd Banks confused with me.

Whoa. That’s cold blooooded.

Mya: At the end of the day I laugh because I’ve been linked to Jay-Z, Jadakiss, Wyclef, Sisqo, Game and Damon Dash. I’m like ohhhk, let me see pictures, let me see the sex tape.

Speaking about the Game, what was your initial reaction upon hearing his line on the song “Dreams,” where he says, “I had dreams of fucking an R&B bitch like Mya”?

Mya: Well, I had an AR inform me of the song before I even heard it. That day I had my birthday party and the Game came through and said he wants to take me out to dinner and I’m thinking, ‘This sucker just called me a bitch on his record.’ So I told him, ‘Nice to meet you, but I have some friends I have to get to.’ I kept it polite, but kept it moving. I was a little pissed at him, before I heard it. But then I realized it was a compliment in a crazy hip hop kind of way. I did his video for the song because the director explained to me that it was just a fantasy sequence and nothing real.

Interesting, there were rumors of both 50 and The Game tapping, but I guess they may not be true, who knows.

Full Entertainment Weekly Article on Jay-Z New Album

Jay and Beyonce appear on a double cover for Rolling Stone magazine, while the full Entertainment Weekly article about Jay-Z’s new Album, “Kingdom Come,” is online.

Yes, Jay-Z is a man of his word. Except, it seems, when he isn’t. In 2002, the rapper declared that his next CD, The Black Album, would also be his last. His future lay not in the beats but in the boardroom. And that ambition became a reality when, in December 2004, he was announced as the new president and CEO of Def Jam Recordings. How to explain, then, the news that this fall Jay-Z will release a new CD, Kingdom Come? ”It was the worst retirement, maybe, in history,” he admits. And then he launches into an impromptu a cappella preview of the title track, which was inspired by a 1996 comic in which Superman comes out of retirement to save the world. The lyrics that effortlessly roll off his tongue may help explain his return: ”Take off the blazer/Loosen up the tie/Step inside the booth/Superman is alive!”

DMX With Comments About Jay-Z, Oh Boy

Ok this is pretty lame, seems like a washed up rapper looking for some publicity. DMX claims Jay-Z is a sucker for love and talks about him wearing, “Flip Flops.” Come on DMX, get it together, worry less about what a man is wearing and more on getting your life straight. According to the New York Post:

DMX - the oft-arrested hip-hop star - says real men don’t wear sandals. And he blames Beyoncé for Jay-Z’s flip-flop fetish. “The flip-flops - he’s just not the same,” DMX complains in Vibe magazine. “It’s Beyoncé. He’s a sucker for love. Thugs don’t do flip-flops. Yo, no matter how much vacation I’m on - we been to St. Thomas, Bahamas, all the little islands - I don’t wear no flip-flops. I’m never that comfortable, not even in my own house.”

Beyonce on Good Morning America(RealTalkNY EXCLUSIVE VIDEO)

Last Night was crazy for me. I went to fashion rocks and that sucked. So then I had to be at Foxy Brown’s party by 12p.m. to get in free. I leave Fashion Rocks after 11:15 p.m. and had to rush to the party and barely made it. I left the party about 3:45 a.m. and made my way to times square. Hit up McDonalds then went to 44th street where the concert is at. They already had the stage set up and people waiting on a line. I’m thinking its all good since I am close to the front, only like 15 people were already there. So as time goes on more and more people come and next thing you know there is a VIP line. The VIP line consisted of people part of the fan club, people that were invited and contest winners. I didn’t think too much of the VIP line because anywhere you go there is always one. But then the line got mad long and people started getting tight. The entire VIP line was let in before general admission, at least over 75 people, so someone could of came at 7a.m. and get in before someone who was there since 4 in the morning.
Wasn’t too big a deal because people in the front of general admission still got a very good view. Beyonce didn’t come out until 8:30, so we were all just stuck there standing forever. The audience a high rate of gay males that came out to support Beyonce, some were singing along to her songs and you can tell they had sugar in their tank. A lot of people were screaming they love Beyonce and things of that nature, I looked on and just shook my head.
So Beyonce finally comes out and does her Good Morning America performances. She seemed really nice talking to the crowd and smiling. She seemed like a regular person and showed no signs of being a diva or stuck up. Beyonce was backed by her all female band, which will be on tour with her sometime this or next year. Beyonce was looking very beatutiful, seen her at the MTV awards but didn’t really have time to take everything in. She had on make up but it wasn’t OD in my opinion, her face looks like it would be cute with out makeup. Beyonce more than proved her vocal talent hitting notes with ease. Beyonce gave enthusiastic performances even though she was up late the night before performing at Fashion Rocks. Even if you may not like the new album by Beyonce, it would be hard to leave her concert not wishing her the best, respecting her talent and beleiving she is a good person.

Went to Foxy Brown B-day Party

Foxy decided to have a B-Day Party at Sol last night(9/7). Kimora Lee Simmons was there and was right in front of me, but this guy was with her stopping me from taking pictures. Foxy didn’t come until like 3:15 and stayed about a half an hour. Party was cool overall but nothing special, didn’t really feel like a birthday party since she as M.I.A. the whole night. Kimora Lee is cute and tall but i wouldn’t go crazy over her.
