Personally, I am so GLAD that the urban clothing lines are dead. It was too unimaginative and just more of the same. The urban clothing lines mirrorred hip-hop in that they both started out to fill a void and was, originally, creative and different. Just like hip-hop, it became commercialized, copied, unoriginal, and uninspiring.

In addition, the genre needed to end because a lot (not all) of black men did not know when to give up on that style and dress age appropriate. After age 32 or so, grow up and dress your age.

Now, hopefully, there is room in our communities for black men to dress age appropriate and show their personality in their clothing instead of just following the (uninspired) masses.

its funny how this forum is supposed to be about not playin into name brands and its alot of u posting replys talkin bout i only rock this and that. when did the subject change to u aint fresh until u rock this brand? at any rate, i have never been a big fan of a label being plastered all over my chest and across my ass, but i went thru my phase as a teen like everyone else. leave these teenagers alone if they wanna were all these xtra colors, but its the grown ppl over the age of 23 that we should be worried about. what grown woman with her shyt in order is gonna want to share her life with a nukka who spends an xtra’d out amount of money on clothes but stays in a shack or drivin hoopties on 26’s?? fellas…be careful what u are tryin to attract….the nice, classy, educated female who can help support a comfortable lifestyle, or the superficial hoe from around the corner who spends just as much money on bullshit as u with no foresight to think “maybe i should save some of this money and buy something that i could still use/wear in 3yrs. fashion is dead, and we are killing it ppl!!

I cant lie im goin through a fashion loop right now, spendin credit on fresh clothes, it’s all good though It’s startin to wear off I done sold more than half my shit on ebay and got more back then what I payed for some of the shit, but, yeah, I will agree that if you really aint got the money to be buyin the trendy shit dont sacrifice the important stuff to get it. I learned the hard way.

Word to me urban gear fell off. I used to cop shit from a clothing store e z. But nowadays its hard for me to find something to rock without compromising my style or swagger. coogi use to be my shit. But this new stuff I see I’m like wtf. I aint gonna front I copped a couple bape hoodies and kix. Only to rock it twice then give it to some young nigga that’s head ova heels for that shit. I just like to stay fresh and be different though. So what I do sometimes is cop official jeans do abstract art like a miskeen on a 5 for 20 footlocker t or galaxy t use colors that match any pair of kix I got and freak it like that. That way I know aint no nigga rockin the shirt I got on. Ya digg

P.s. I’ll never wear air force 1’s everybody and they frigen grandmother rock them. Strictly jordans dunks and timbs.
