Jay-Z Responds To Glastonbury Critics
We don’t play guitars, Noel, but hip-hop has put in its work like any other form of music. This headline show is just a natural progression. We just have to respect each other’s genre of music and move forward.
I’ve never ever had a show that’s caused this much of a stir so I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve never been involved in anything this controversial. What’s the big deal about doing a show? I guess it’s heritage and people hold that dear to their heart and see it one way but that’s how the world is. The world has to change. It just can’t be one thing - and that’s the beautiful thing. That’s why people feel so passionate about an event.
- Jay-Z
This is how you handle the situation, no needs to throw insults.

co-sign what Jay said doesnt seem like a big deal to me !!
CELTICS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
he’s still doing the show?expect someone to throw a bottle at his forehead but jay will take the “high road” on that too.
There is no problem of it been Jay-Z headlining bcus he can sell out shows off his name alone like he did last time he was in the UK but only bcus it is Glastonbury which is traditionally for rockers people are hating on the change of genre but last year people were hating about it being the same every year and its boring and it needed a change of approach so you cant please everybody.
Dude is a class act
Benny from the Bronx youse a lame. you can’t handle hov’s position? let it be youngin let it be he’s doing his thing.it’s all show and prove anyway.if dude is nice, dude is nice. with the flow too. let it be youngin let it be….
co sign #3,4 & 5
But now Jay gotta come even harder for this show because they’ll be watching him even more now.
I doubt he’s affraid of that challenge.
Its The Roc!
realtalk once again loves hangin off jigga’s nuts but i bet if 50 Cent said that ya’ll would talk reckless. Jay-Z is gonna get booed and bottled just like when 50 headlined it back in 2004, the crowd is just a bunch of angry white ppl that wanna get crunk to rock and heavy metal.
once again
jayz leads by example
“i’ll show u how to do this son”
young rappers need a media training course
any other rapper, u woulda heard, na’mean, word to my mutha, fuck, bitch, gunz, crack, smell me, stop hating, get money, ya dig
a bunch of smart dumb niggas
they are going to throw bottles at him at Glastonbury.
people need to open up to different types of music in general and not narrow themselves to one genre.
narrow mindedness.
So to be fair, Noel Gallagher’s rock group should be allowed to headline NYCs Summer Jam. I am sure the hip hop community wouldn’t mind, right?
^^^^^
yes if they were asked by the promoters of summer jam to do it then it shouldnt be a problem. its not like they are changing the entire show its just ONE act that is being added. Jay is the only hip hop artist on the line up Noel acts like the entire line up is hip hop.
Ya all so like straight buffers !
JAY JUST DO YOU AND DON’T WORRY ABOUT THE CRITICS…JUST GO GET THAT MILLY THAT THEY PAYING YOU TO DO IT…..NOEL JUST MAD CUZ HE IS GETTING MOST OF THE CHEDDAR…..GROW UP…”MUSIC IS MUSIC!” NUFF SAID.
Noel Gallagher is the most humble of the Gallagher brothers its Liam that is trouble Liam Gallagher is a hot head expect to see confrontation. I do think bottles will be thrown at jay z rocker fans are like that also boo’s but i respect Jay z for still going through with it.
cosign #10,
Most don’t have a problem with jay z playing at glastonbury but to headline a night that that is gonna piss the regulars off i would think. Noel is right though they need to stick to their roots that to attract as many people as possible.
Exactly if a rockgroup would headline Summer jam and the tickets wasn’t selling all that well you better believe that ppl would complain and ask why the hell a rockgroup is headline.
I don’t have a problem with jay z playing at glastonbury but to headline a night that is gunna **** the regulars off i would think. Noel is right though they need to stick to their roots that what glastonbury should be all about.
“What’s the big deal about doing a show?” Well I guess the people who paid to see the show don’t like rap and don’t want to see Jigga’s fat lips.
White people in the UK don’t like rap, I doubt anyone whos buying tickets to the show paid to see Jay, they probablly are going to see the rock bands.
