Jay-Z performing his, “American Gangster,” concert was an event too big for REALTALKNY not to be in the building. I was out of town since Friday but made it right in time to join the never ending line at Hammerstein Ballroom. The line wrapped around the block, so even after I took a major skip I was in for a long wait during a New York frigid night. I kept things interesting by bringing up ether on the line and causing a near riot, while Jigga fans compared who knew the most lyrics off of Jigga’s new album.

Bigger than Tupac, Biggie & Jay-Z? I know he is your wanna be son, but damn you sound like your on crack. Lil Wayne is cool and all, but a lot of his lyrics  got me scratching my head and saying wtf. So I don’t put him in the same paragraph as Tupac, Biggie or Jay-Z.

“I recorded that song in 2006,” he explained about “Gossip.” “I don’t make records or say anything about people. I don’t beef with people. Everybody knows that. … My words are more important than you. I got intelligent people listening to me. I want the words I say to come across [as] important. I want you to relate those words to me, not some guy or some girl. If you hear about me beefing with somebody, you gonna hear about it when I’m in jail.”

“We got some new news,” Weezy said. “[The December 18 release] is gonna be called Tha Carter III, but it’s gonna be called The Leak as well because I get leaked so much. My music got leaked this whole year. One thing I noticed, when another person’s album gets leaked, it’s a whole thing; they’re distraught. When my song gets leaked, people call and say, ‘It’s the greatest song. Can I have it for this album?’ Or ‘Can I put it on this soundtrack? Can we get the ringtone?’ It’s never, ‘Damn, dude, your music leaked.’ So what we feel, we’re gonna give you what you want. We’re gonna give you the leak. Every song that was leaked is coming out on December 18 — and we have four new songs. The song ‘Gossip’ is gonna be the first single from that album. I’mma shoot the video for that in about a week.”

Jay-Z Ft. Lil Wayne - Brooklyn 2.0

 Wayne said “Hello Brooklyn” was actually made for his delayed album, Tha Carter, Vol. 3. “It was produced by my homeboy Big D a long time ago,” he said. “Jay heard the song some type of way, and when he heard it, he said, ‘Ask the homie if I can get this.’ When I was asked the question, I told them it wasn’t even a question  he’s got it. Everybody in the world knows how I feel about Jay. … He’s the king, utmost respect.
